Miss Lacey's journey to recovery

Donation protected
I am a neglect rescue case in Medford Oregon. I am malnourished, my immune system is crashing and I have ringworm. After I heal and get better I can be adopted out to a forever home. Please help me.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi my name is Miss Lacey. Dr's think I am 2 months old. I am an American Staffordshire Terrier, Rottweiler Cross (DNA Tested). Full DNA report will be given to my adopted family as well as my complete health records. Here is my story from my POV.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am very young and need to be protected. I was being passed around from human to human in the community I was living in. They were not very kind to me and painted my toenails with toxic paint. I became ill from the lack of a clean environment and improper foods fed to me. I first became malnourished and then my immune system started to crash. This is ultimately how I developed ringworm.

As one owner took me on to care for me, they became overwhelmed quickly and passed me on to the next owner who wanted to care for me. This cycle repeated itself until my current owner decided I needed more help than his community could give me. He surrendered me to Jackson County Animal Control on March 25th 2016.

Jackson County Animal Control thought I looked terrible and they wasted no time in taking me to the Dr Jessica at Best Friends Animal Hospital. This is where they determined I was very sick and likely highly contagious with ringworm. Lab results will be back in two weeks to get my results on ringworm. I am sick and I need a lot of help. The Jackson County Animal Control knew the shelter was not a facility that can take care of my needs without exposing all the other shelter animals. It is not a risk that can be taken so they called Miss Gabriel Foundation to make arrangements for my rescue.

On March 26th 2016 Miss Gabriel Foundation (MGF) stepped in to pick me up, foster me and give me the 24/7 medical cares I would need. They have a motto and it is "Giving a second chance to dogs who never had a first chance." MGF needs your help to make this happen.

I saw my Dr on March 26th 2016. She has a medical plan she believes will help me.

I am malnourished and Dr believes I had not been fed proper foods. My ears, face, head, body and legs have missing patches of fur. There are crusty scabs with some bleeding and oozing areas. I tested negative for mites and I am waiting for my lab work to confirm ringworm. Lab takes two weeks for results. My skin and hair did glow under the black lights confirming ringworm. I am very itchy and I am in pain.

Dr gave me some shampoos and some dip to treat me at home. I was also given some de-worming medication. Dr says I am very young so there are limits to what I can be tested for and treated with. Less is best in my young age. I need time to heal and catch up and we can discuss more options in a couple of weeks.

I saw my Dr on April 8th 2016 to show her my progress for the past 2 weeks. Dr was really happy and thinks I may get out of isolation room sooner than later. She says I am super cute. I may beat this thing and still have the chance to relapse for 3 months. My system needs to get stronger to beat this infestation. I will need to see her again in 2 weeks since I still glow green under the black lights.

Dr Liana wants to keep seeing me to check on my progress for healing.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
As you can see my medical costs are adding up already. I hope you can find it in your hearts and pocket books to please donate to my rehabilitation and recovery. 100% of these donations go into my medical care.

Donations are welcomed and are always needed for the veterinary/daily care of sick dogs like me. By your donations, the neglected cases get to come here into MGF for a second chance.

I did not want to get this sick. I wanted to be loved and cared for. My previous owner let me get this way. My medical bills will be ongoing during my treatments to get better. The hope is to not need a medical plan after I heal and repair. I want to live and I want to find my fur-ever family. It will take a village to help me. I need your help please.

How To Help Miss Lacey

Please consider making a small tax deductible donation for my medical care. Also help get the word out and share my plea. Without your help, MGF cannot rescue more like me. Community donations are their only source of funding.

100% of these donations will go to my medical cost. Should my medical bills get paid off, it will go towards my care and feeding that the Howell's are currently paying for out of their personal funds. They are unpaid volunteers. This foundation is their way to help dogs like Miss Gabriel Howell.

Please consider signing up for a $1 or more, monthly reoccurring donation.

Thank you!
