Hello! We are Mary Holste and Jo Jo Stiletto (Jessica Obrist) of The Miss Fisher Philes Podcast , a popular fancast that has been covering episodes of our beloved Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries since 2016. When the Kickstarter for the movie was announced, we signed on for the trip of a lifetime—to be extras on the set of “Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears.” We could not think of a better way to kick off our 40s but travelling in the spirit of Phryne Fisher. We could use your help to make this adventure happen in a meaningful way.
We want to take you along on our journey as we experience filming locations from the TV show, meet cast and crew, and get into all sorts of Phryne-related shenanigans. Truthfully, we’ve been saving for months for our dream vacation but we know the costs of adventuring and podcasting add up fast. In addition to getting to Australia, there are also a couple pieces of equipment we need for recording high-quality podcasts on the go, plus potentially the need for renting studio time should we happen to score an important interview.

The Pitch
Our aim is to visit past filming locations and hopefully score a few interviews along the way with key cast and crew. Thus, in addition to normal vacation shenanigans, we are investing in creating podcast content. This gofundme is like a fandom honeymoon fund (a funnymoon?) and also a light podcast “kickstarter.” All funds will be used for airline tickets, lodging, food, experiences, podcast equipment, and other podcast related costs. Current filming dates are TBD for October. Once the dates are nailed with the production company, we’ll begin booking our trip. If the trip is cancelled by the filmmakers, the money donated will cover the amount spent to secure the "extra" experience.
Who Are We
Mary Holste, along with her collaborative partner Chandler O’Leary, founded The Miss Fisher Philes, the first and only Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries podcast. Jo Jo Stiletto produced Miss Fishnet's Stripper Mysteries, the world’s only burlesque tribute inspired by Miss Fisher and friends and has often appeared as a special guest on the podcast. Mary and Jo Jo share a 40th birthday month, a fandom-based friendship, and a background working in marketing and advertising. Their podcasting ambitions are backed with experience, skill, and a vast knowledge their favorite Australian lady detective.
