Michael Harder Vet w/ Parkinsons

Mike Harder started experiencing early symptoms of Parkinson's in his mid-thirties. At age 38, he was diagnosed with the disease. At age 42 Mike was at his maximum amount of meds, that he his body could handle, and his neurologist would not be able to up the dose any further. At that point Mike was so bad off that he could no longer perform any of his usual daily functions like driving, exercising or fishing. Mike and his doctor agreed to take the scary step of getting a Deep Brain Stimulator (DBS), implanted. The DBS did help bring Mike's meds back down to the beginning dosage, and he was once again able to perform his regular daily activities.
Mike is a disabled U.S. Air Force veteran, having served over 13 years. During the Gulf War, he served two tours in Desert Storm. While on tour, his job entailed transporting weapons. He worked around depleted Uranium on a daily basis. It has not been proven that the Uranium exposure caused the Parkinson's, however, it is very unusual to take on the disease at such an early age. Mike is otherwise a very healthy individual.
January through March of 2017, Mike tried out Light Therapy, by borrowing the system from a friend. Light Therapy has been known to aide Parkinson's, along with other diseases such as cancer. The 3 months of Light Therapy improved Mike's health tremendously, and brought his meds back down 80%.
Mike needs to purchase the Light Therapy system, and we need your help.  If you are able to help out in any financial way, Mike and his family and friends deeply appreciated it.
A documentary was made of Mike during his DBS surgery. This story can be viewed on MLive Mike Harder
