Mia's Eye Operation (Pre-Op Visit)

Mia is a beautiful, loving, generous 8 year old girl who has been through a tremendous amount of trauma in her short life. She is a true survivor, and now, on top of all that Mia has been through, she needs to have surgery on both eyes and the ONLY way for this family to afford to do so is with YOUR help.
Mia lives in the little country of Trinidad and Tobago and the surgery Mia needs is not available locally. Instead, she will need to travel to the U.S. to undergo testing, surgery and then follow up treatment. This is all very scary for Mia. This initial campain is simply for the initial testing and consultation.
A year ago, Mia was complaining of blurry vision and her eyes seemed to be drooping. She has what is commonly referred to as "sleepy eye" or Strabismus and the strain on her eyes has caused damage to both eyes. Mia has to endure surgery on them both.
Once our goal of $10,000 has been reached, everyone who has donated will be entered into a draw for a chance to recieve a valuable thank you gift. See details below.
100% money donated will be put towards medical expenses as well as travel expenses for Mia and her mother to travel back and forth from the U.S. for all of the doctor's visits, operations and follow-up therapy needed.
Simply put, Mia has difficulty seeing now and the longer she is forced to wait for the operation, the worse her eyesight will become.

Obviously, you'll have to be in Trinidad to have lunch at Chaud - but it's worth the flight if you aren't already in Trinidad :)
