Mexico's Earthquake Relief Effort
Donation protected
Over the past couple of weeks Mexico has been struck by two of the most powerful earthquakes in history. Multiple states in the country have been affected by these disasters, including some of the poorest regions in the nation as well as Mexico City, one of the most densely populated cities in the world. The death toll has risen to 225 and there are still many people missing.
We are a group of Mexican students at the University of Notre Dame who have set up this page to raise funds for the Cruz Roja Mexicana (Mexican Red Cross). This organization will purchase medicines, shovels, flashlights, water, and other much needed items and use them to help the victims of these deadly earthquakes.
A single dollar is enough to pay for any of the following:
• 3L of water
• 2 cans of beans
• 2kg of tortillas
• 1kg of rice
As you can see, a dollar is worth so much in times like these. Please consider donating and join us in our effort to help Mexico in this time of need.
Please share this post.
Thank you
If you prefer to donate directly to a bank, the Carlos Slim Foundation will donate $5 for every $1 you donate! Details are in the update section.
