Help celebrate Merle's 111 B-day!

Tax deductible
On April 2, Merle Phillips will turn 111 years young! Merle, a resident at Belmont Village Senior Living at Geneva Road, needs your help to make this birthday an extra special one.

Two years ago, Merle had cataract surgery to correct vision problems that she had nearly her entire life. As an avid reader and author, Merle did not let her vision issues get in the way and, until recently, was using a special machine to assist her with reading. Post-surgery, Merle is happy to say she no longer needs the machine and is back to enjoying all her favorite books without any assistance (well, except from her iPad).

In honor of her birthday, and for the second year in a row, Merle wants to give back to the community and help others who have vision challenges. That’s why she’s asking friends, family and well-wishers to consider donating to Spectrios Institute for Low Vision instead of offering gifts/cards. Spectrios works to empower children and adults with vision loss, regardless of income, to optimize their visual capabilities and independence through the use of perspective tools, technology, rehabilitative training and inspiration.

Please consider donating to this wonderful organization on behalf of Merle for her special day. All donations are much appreciated!
