In Memory of Mavi Jones

$22,616 of $35,000 goal

Raised by 248 people in 28 months
On Tuesday 15th March 2016, 2 ½ year old Maverick Jones tragically passed away on the family's farm in rural NSW. It was a horrifically devastating accident involving a forklift in which he died instantly.

This beautiful, brown-eyed, blonde-haired little boy brought joy and love to the hearts of hundreds of people, and according to those who knew him the best, Mavi was the sunshine of many; he had a smile to light up the world and was happy and cheeky!

His 12 year old sister and 10 year old brother live on, along with his wonderful loving parents Dale & Jess. They have however faced some challenges with beginning their family.  Each of their children, especially Mavi were a small miracle. And while no loss is easy, this makes it an especially hard burden to bear.

For now they are surrounded by their amazing family, and as a couple are miraculously uniting together and are maintaining a strength through this most tragic time in their lives. However, their burden won’t be easy. They will carry this one forever and it will be a massive adjustment for their precious family.

So what can WE do to HELP them? As they live remotely, their two older children Zari & Zedi undertake their schooling through 'School of the Air'. Their education will need to continue and they are going to need our support.

Being on the land, the costs of an impending funeral for Mavi along with the ongoing costs of everyday life and family, and keeping a business running, are enough for them to deal with during this time of turmoil.

SO, we would like to raise enough funds for them to have an Au Pair/Governess there to support them in their daily life and help with teaching the children. This is Jess & Dale's wish, and with no immediate family close by, this would be an immense help to them both!

In addition to easing the cost of living, $10,000 will allow them to have the support of an Au Pair/Governess for the next 4 months. $20,000 will provide support for the next 8 months and $30,000 for 12 months! If funds were to exceed this amount, they would be used to continue to support the needs of the family ongoing to enable them to take the time to do what they need as a family.

If you feel the urge to give, please do so NOW! As they need help as soon as possible, this family will appreciate your support, however big or small, EVERY dollar counts right now!

If just 2,000 people contributed $20 each we would far surpass the goal! We believe with God that this CAN be done!

We can already see how far the rays of Mavi are reaching so let’s help the sunshine of this beautiful boy spread further and unite with them on their long journey. Their pain is incomprehensible, and 2 ½ is just too young to die. So we thank you - above and beyond measure, for coming together as we Australians do, to show your support for this brave & courageous family who love God with all their hearts and have endured so so much!

We are now 10 weeks on from the passing of precious Mavi. And collectively through the incredibly generous donations of so many caring people we have raised a total of $33,671!!

Special thanks to the Inverell St George Bank for their incredible effort in raising $5,000 from a Pie & Lamington drive and also to the Inverell Salvation Army for their very generous donation also.

We are so so amazed at how God has shown his love and care for the Jones family through this very devastating time in their lives!

I can't thank you all enough for the incredible support each and everyone of you have given- it will never be forgotten!

And they are still searching for an Aupair to join their family for a time so if you know of any one please contact them on: djazjones@hotmail.com

Below is a message personally from Dale & Jess to all of you:
"We are extremely grateful and overwhelmed by the incredibly kind support shown by family, friends, community and even people we have never met before! Even though any amount of money will never replace our precious boy, it will be a great help in supporting our family in the future as we recover and go on as best we can through this awful tragedy. We hang on to the hope that our parting is not forever. Jesus coming is very close - we will see our beautiful boy soon and we will never have to let Mavi go again.

"For the Lord himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words". I Thess 4:16-18

We would love each of you to be there for that amazing reunion God has planned for us all!

At this stage we are still looking for the right Governess / Au Pair to help manage Zari and Zedi's schooling, and free Jess up to allow us to work together more on the bees, so if you know of someone who may be suitable please be in contact: djazjones@hotmail.com

God bless you for your kindness and love you have shown to us.

Lots of Love Dale and Jess, Zari and Zed XXOO"

Hi everyone! We are so excited to share that we are approaching 2/3 of the way to our goal for Dale, Jess, Zari & Zedi! A very sincere thankyou to every one of you who have lovingly shown support.
However, donations have slowed considerably now, and as much as we all know that nothing will ever come close to compensating for the loss of precious Mavi, it is certainly blessing the Jones' souls to know so many people care and have 'got their backs'!
So we are wondering if we could make a further request of you, along the lines of a small fundraiser? Perhaps where you live, where you work, at your community group, your church, in your street, or anywhere else you can think of...perhaps selling lamingtons or cookies or home-grown produce etc?
If you would like to do this but need some further ideas, send me a message and I'll see what I can brainstorm with you.
If this isn't possible, perhaps you could share again via social media to help new people continue to see the Go Fund Me, or even print out a flyer of the campaign and stick it up on your local community notice boards? To do this, scroll down underneath the description of the campaign where you will see a link to 'POSTER'. You will then be able to print it off.
As you can imagine their world has been shattered and they continue to struggle with the resultant brokenness, so let's continue to strive closer to the goal on their behalf.
As much as Dale & Jess are unassuming and self-effacing-type people, they are nonetheless completely overwhelmed at all the support you have shown and remain incredibly grateful! Thankyou ever so much!

In just 6 days we are over halfway to our goal of support for the Jones family! On behalf of Dale & Jess, I cannot thank you enough for coming together and generously giving so willingly! Perhaps let's think of a way in which we can share this with 1 new group or circle of people who may not have seen it and may feel compelled to give or share also! Thankyou!

Yesterday Dale & Jess, Zari & Zedi laid their precious son and little brother Maverick to rest. It was an incredibly sobering and emotional day but there were some beautiful and even joyous moments as Dale shared a wonderful life sketch of Mavi's short but very full life. We pray that their memories continue to bring them peace and comfort. Rest in peace beautiful one! You will be loved and remembered forever!
Below is the New England NBN news segment from yesterday evening. Please watch, share and continue to donate to support this dear family! We are almost 1/2 way to our goal! We can't thank you all enough!
