J'ai besoin d'un million de dollars pour racheter ma vie, vous voulez bien m'aider? Svp?
Je suis atteint d'une maladie neuro-dégénérative rare et incurable nommée GM2 Gangliosidose (Variant AB)
Je suis le seul cas connu mondialement à être atteint de cette variante, ce qui fait de moi quelqu'un de très spécial!
Jusqu'à l'âge de cinq ans, j'étais un petit garçon comme les autre, puis tranquillement mais sûrement, tout s'est mis à mal aller.
J'ai commencé par faire des crises d'épilepsie,...j'ai arrêté de parler, ...puis j'ai aussi cessé de marcher
Aujourd'hui, je suis cloué à mon fauteuil roulant, je suis gavé, mon petit corps s'atrophie a force de ne pas bouger
Mais je suis bien conscient de tout ce qui se passe autour de moi,
Je regarde la vie passer, impuissant
Je suis prisonnier de mon corps qui ne répond plus.

Il m'envisage pour une thérapie génique très prometteuse qui me permettrait fort probablement de parler et marcher à nouveau
Mais on doit amasser 1 million pour rendre mon souhait le plus cher réalisable.
Les subventions pour la recherche sur les maladies orphelines sont déjà très pauvres...c'est encore pire quand on est seul au monde!
Si cet essaie clinique marche pour moi, ça permettra à plusieurs de mes amis aux prises avec d'autres maladies incurables d'en bénéficier aussi.

I have a rare and incurable neurodegenerative disease called GM2 Gangliosidosis (AB Variant) I am the only known case worldwide to be affected by this variant, which makes me very unique!
Up to the age of five, I was a boy like the others, then quietly but surely, everything started to go wrong. I started with epileptic seizures, ... I stopped talking, ... and then I stopped walking.
Today, I'm confined to my wheelchair, I'm force-fed and my little body atrophies by not moving.
I am well aware of my surroundings, I watch life go by, helpless; I am a prisoner of my own body that no longer responds.
My family is in contact with an Ontario researcher, Dr. Jagdeep Walia from Kingston General Hospital.

He envisions me for a very promising gene therapy that would most likely allow me to talk and walk again but we must raise 1 million to make my dearest wish possible.
Grants for research for orphan diseases are already very scarce... it's even worse when you're the only one in the world! If this clinical trial works for me, it will allow many of my friends struggling with other incurable diseases to benefit from it as well. With your support you can save me, believe it just as much as I do.
Just like my mother, I’m very determined and I believe that together, we can make this a reality.
