Marty Rush funeral expenses

Donation protected
My mother in law Martha Joan Rush, or as we all called her Marty, passed away early Friday morning, January 8th of 2016. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Alan Rush, her Daughter Carrie and her son Gregory Rush. Marty had been sick for a while but her death was unexpected and has hit the family in ways both emotional and financial.

Marty spent most of her career as a Wildlife Rehab Specialist. She rescued countless wild birds and other animals who had been injured either by careless hunters or accidents. Many were released back into the wild, others had to be cared for indefinitely due to their injuries but Marty loved her work. It was her life's calling.

As with many people who do volunteer work, the Rush's relied on donations to help fund their wildlife rescue activities. In the last few years, due to Marty's increasingly bad health, they had to stop all of the fund raising events they used to attend to help make ends meet. Now with her unexpected death, this has left her husband Alan stuck with bills he was not expecting or able to cover.

Marty did so much for the community of Middle Tennessee that now we are reaching out for your help in their time of need. Rather than send flowers or material gifts to the family, we are asking for donations to help cover Marty's funeral costs.

We plan to have an outdoor memorial for Marty in the early Spring at the parks she spent so much time working in. This was where she was most at home, outside with the animals she loved so much.

If you can help in any small way, please donate to this cause for Alan and Marty. I know she would not want to leave her husband whom she adored, with burdens that he cannot cope with alone. Won't you please give one last time in memory of all the good Marty did while she was alive? Marty's efforts on behalf of all of the animals of this world should be a reminder of how we should all treat God's creatures.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
