Manierre Middle School Class Trip

Just three years ago Manierre Elementary school in Chicago was one of 54 schools to be closed in the largest public schools consolidation in U.S. history...the school had been on probation the previous nine years and was scored “Level 3”, the lowest possible.

Thanks to the efforts of the school’s educators, parents and the community, Manierre was saved. The school moved to a level 2 two years ago and is no longer on probation, reflecting greatly increased student performance!

But every year the funding clock is reset...we need your help to continue making progress, to continue giving Manierre students every opportunity to succeed.

Last year, for the first time in school history, there was a middle school trip to visit colleges, universities and important American landmarks. 




This year, with your help, fifty 7th and 8th grade students will visit 8 colleges and universities in 4 cities as well as historic national sites such as the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial; Ebenezer Baptist Church; Ford’s Theatre; Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum; Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.
