MVRHS Prom Transportation Fund

As President of the Junior Class at the Regional High-school, I’m proud to announce we, the Junior Class, for the first time, will be offering taxi rides throughout the night to every student who attends prom free of charge. The official name of the program is the MVRHS Transportation Program. On the back of all prom tickets is a taxi voucher that is valid for free rides throughout the night with the “Your Taxi” and "Cottage City Taxi Cab" taxi companies. We have been able to kick start and pay for this program through the gracious help of community donations.

Our goal is to have enough funds after this years program to partially fund the program for next years prom, which will encourage annual support for the Transportation Program. We, as the members of Student Council, want to promote the safest and the most memorial Prom Night in recent memory to all students. We are accepting donations to expand the program in the future and financially support its annual use for grades to come. All of the money that is donated through this fundraiser will be sent into an account that will be designated for the Prom Night Transportation Fund. If we meet our fundraising goal, we will be able to completely fund this year's program as well as leave a significant amount of money for next years Prom which will start a new tradition in our school.  Not only does this program promote safety, it promotes giving back to younger fellow students, who will begin planning their Prom in the fall.  It's an amazing experience to be organizing such an important and valuable service to our island students and community.
