Lyseth School Odyssey of the Mind

On April 2, 2016, two teams comprised of Portland, Maine 5th graders earned the opportunity to represent Maine at the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals to be held at Iowa State University May 25th - 29th.  They will be competing against teams from around the world, from countries such as China, Poland and Moldova. Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Our two teams worked for months developing innovative and creative solutions to a complex problem that was designed to encourage divergent thinking and problem solving.   Our school is in a unique and challenging situation as we must raise funds for two teams.  We don’t want to miss this opportunity of a lifetime and are looking for your support in raising monies necessary to cover travel and lodging expenses for fourteen children, their coaches and chaperones.
