Dog Adoption & Welfare Group (DAWG- a not for profit organization) has been rescuing dogs at risk of being euthanized since 1992. Our main goal in the community is to lower the euthanasia rate in the Santa Barbara County, and we have been progressing towards that goal for 25 years. We have placed over 2000 dogs into forever homes in the past ten years alone through rehabilitating (behaviorally and medically) these dogs at our shelter, and adopting them out to loving homes.
LuLu is a big, beautiful girl that we pulled from Santa Barbara County Animal Services because she was very uncomfortable meeting new people and reactive to dogs.
Since we've had her at DAWG, she has learned how to be calm and confident while meeting new people and has been practicing her dog socialization!
However, we learned that she has two bad back knees that will both require TPLO surgeries in order for her to healthily resume her normal activity and exercise levels.
At this point, her leg issues are hindering her ability to progress behaviorally, as we are very limited in how much running, jumping, and walking that we can allow her.
We want to get her legs repaired ASAP so that we can resume her training and find her a perfect forever home.
Everyone here at DAWG works incredibly hard to ensure the welfare of our dogs, as we would all be especially grateful for any financial assistance we can receive toward LuLu's surgery costs.
Any money donated goes directly into the DAWG medical fund to help LuLu AND can also help other DAWG dogs who may need surgery or other medical needs.
