Letters to Heaven
I felt very intrusive but felt the need to find out where they had come from. Before I revealed the letters I googled how far two mylar balloons could travel in a day. It varied of course, but I did find someone that said they set one loose and it was discovered over 600 miles away.
After reading the letters I knew I had my work cut out for me. There were very little clues in the letters as to who this family was or where they were but I knew I had to help. One of the letters told the mother that they did not have the money to bury her.
I brought this project into work with me today and our leader "The Hammer" told me to do my thing in finding this family. Gotta love the internet! I did find information and spoke to the funeral home. The balloon message either came north from Escondido (35 miles) or south from Moreno Valley (36 miles), either way it landed in my yard for a reason - I have generous friends, coworkers and family.
This Mother passed away on May 5, 2014 at the age of 42 and her daughters are trying to find the money to bury her. No family should ever be in this position.
Please help us reach our goal of helping these three kids give their mother a proper burial where they can honor her for the life they shared.

I do not know how to thank each and everyone of you who have read the Finney family story and came to support them. Collectively you will not only bury Ms. Finney, you will also help them achieve their goals through support for some time. You really are angels on earth.
I have read each and every thought on this page and you have all touched me deeply. You have further supported my belief that mankind is inherently good and supportive of their fellow human beings and for that I also thank you.
I want to give a special thank you to my boss, Jerry Halamuda for supporting this journey and allowing me the time to make this happen. You are The Hammer boss!
The service is scheduled for Friday, May 23rd. On that day please remember how wonderful your giving spirit has been and recognize what YOU have done for a grieving family.
For those who the story is just reaching who have come here to help after we have closed, please stay in the giving mode. Please search this site for a cause that touches your heart. There are many.
On behalf of myself and the three Finney siblings I send you our thanks, gratitude and love.
Actually, this site separates the letters in the link in two places, so you have to close the gaps to get to the page she was referring to.
The link Kimberly Glasnapp meant to post is: http://www.youcaring.com/memorial-fundraiser/a-dying-wish/143708
I saw this fundraiser has raised above and beyond their goal and wondered if there might still be hope for this similar case, that is just as tragic but got zero support. A few months ago a very nice family I know lost their mom, wife and mother to illness she was only in her 40's and the family had not only no way to pay the funeral but has since lost the home they shared together but had to move into a run down shack/trailer that doesn't even have a bathroom or kitchen. This is the link to the fundraiser I helped them start and it didn't even collect a dime and I really tried! Can you share it, maybe put your touch on it? Share it with some of your friends? I wish I could give more. We recently lost our Father and I couldn't imagine on top of that pain the worry about money too. You are loved and you are not alone! Michelle
