Jonah Goldberg's Battle w/ Cancer

"I'm the luckiest man you know!" That is the type of response that one can expect from Jonah Goldberg when he is asked how he is doing.
Jonah is a dedicated husband to his adoring wife of fourteen years, Nancy, and a doting father to his daughter Sarah; the center of his universe. Jonah describes his in-laws as his best friends and no mother is more proud of her son than is Jonah's.
When Jonah is not spending time with his family, he can be found rocking out on his guitar in one of the three bands to which he belongs: his local cover band, his synagogue band, and the JM Family Associate band.

In his nineteen years as an associate at JM Family Enterprises, Jonah has befriended everyone with whom he has been in contact. He is considered a "go to guy". He is always prepared to do anything for anyone if it will help to lighten their load and to get things done. Jonah has earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and is recognized for his intelligence, his dedication, his sense of humor, and his love of life.
Two years ago (Fall 2014), Jonah was rushed to a hospital emergency room where it was determined that his appendix had burst. Everyone was relieved that the problem with the appendix was caught and treated in time, but dismayed to learn that colon cancer was found to have been the cause of the ruptured appendix.
Not one to back down from a fight, Jonah took cancer head on. He underwent an invasive cancer surgery that was followed by six months of intense chemotherapy. Everyone was, understandably, elated when Jonah won the battle and was declared cancer free. Good things do happen to good people.

Recently, though, some bad news was received. Jonah's cancer has returned. Jonah is working with some of the best cancer specialists in the world to battle this disease. Together, they are pursuing an aggressive chemo protocol with a goal of getting the cancer under control enough to make him a candidate for a second surgery.
Jonah's drive, determination, optimism, and his support network will prove vital in this new battle. But, there are also financial implications in all fights against cancer. Travel expenses to meet with specialists will accumulate quickly. Lost compensation not covered by insurance will impact the family budget. Other unplanned costs will need to be funded.
While we may not be able to rid Jonah’s body of cancer, we can make sure that his family is not subjected to the unnecessary stress that can result from these types of extraordinary, unplanned expenses.
