Hello all,
My name is Leo Pitts, I am a current 11th grader at Impact Academy of Arts and Technology. I have been given a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic for three weeks this summer through Global Glimpse. Global Glimpse is a non-profit orginazation that partners with schools all across America to help students experience and learn about the develping world.
During this Trip, I will be thinking critically, collaborating with natives, communicating powerfully, and completing pojects effectively. This opportunity will give me a chance to support people who deal with hardships that I have never experienced myself. In the Dominican Republic, I will be learning first hand what it is like to live like a local, how the community works, and teaching locals english. I will also be spending time with a local family, meeting community leaders, and studying local culture.
Global Glimpse will build my appreciation for what I have and a stronger ambition to help people. It will help push me out of my comfort zone and build my interest in helping others. This trip can also help me be accepted by a prestigious school as it will keep me competitive. This trip can also make me elligble for scholarships.
Any little bit that you can donate will be greatly appreciated. All funds will go toward airfare, accommidations, food, and the experience of a lifetime. If you are unable to donate, that is fine. You can also help by sharing this page with friends and family that may be intersted in contributing.
