Hi everybody! Writing has always been a great passion of mine, so recently I was excited to learn that I have been accepted into this summer's Young Writers Workshop at my dream school, the University of Virginia! This is a fantastic opportunity for me, but the program's tuition of $1650 plus the cost of getting there and back will bring the total expenses to about $2000.
Writing has always been a huge part of my life. Since the age of six, I have written more poems, scripts, short stories, and novels than I can count. Recently I was honored and amazed to learn that two of my short stories won national awards in this year's prestigious Scholastic Art & Writing competition, meaning that another plan in the works for this summer is a trip to New York for the award ceremony at Carnegie Hall. This and the UVA workshop are both incredible opportunities for me to meet other young writers and to bring my passion about writing to new levels and new horizons.
The ability to write professionally has always been my lifelong dream, and UVA's program is offering me a chance to follow that dream. Any donations would mean the world to me!
