Lalo will forever live in our ❤️

Donation protected
On Saturday, July 30th, Lalo gained his wings and is now watching over us from the heavens above. For many who knew him or knew his story you know he put up a good fight until his very last breath.

April 22, 2013 he went in to surgery to repair an aortic dissection from a result of Marfan syndrome. Unfortunately, there were complications during the surgery and as a result he needed 23 bags of blood transfusion, and the following morning he was put into a medically induced coma due to massive seizures. Neurologists told us that he would never wake up, and if he did he would be in a vegetative state. We were pressured to make a life changing decision whether to "pull the plug" on him or to give him the opportunity to prove doctors wrong. We decided to give him another chance at life. After 2 months in a coma, he woke up! Although he was bed ridden and with a ventilator he continued to defy the odds. He learned how to talk again! He learned how to eat again! Feed himself! He sang all his oldies with us! All of this we were told never would happen, but it did because of his will to live! His journey inspired all of those who surrounded him and those he never met. Unfortunately, his body became weak and ended up on life support on Thursday. He had been in pain for far too long and after having loved ones at his bedside and oldies playing in his ear... He took his final breath at 8:01 PM.  Although he is no longer with us, he taught loved ones and strangers alike that when you feel like giving up, there's always a bigger reason to keep on fighting. ❤️
