Hi, My name is Abbey Windham and I have a tremendous opportunity to impact those in need within Port Au Prince, Haiti!     

TeacHaiti is a school located in the capital of  Port-au-Prince.   Their mission is to provide, education, food and clothing to children that otherwise would have no hope of attending school.    This school was founded by a dear friend, Miquette Denie, who grew up in the mountains of Saint Michel, Haiti.    I have had the opportunity to visit the schools and been able to meet the children we have supported.   Seeing the school has ignited a passion in me to bring hope, blessing, and encouragement to others.   Observing their deep appreciation for school and learning has made me even more grateful for my own educational opportunities. 

Their two  schools need resources and we have an incredible opportunity to equip their classrooms in an extraordinary way.


THIS IS HOW YOU CAN HELP!

The Lake Local School System is building new schools in Uniontown, Ohio.  Lake has  generously offered to donate items from the school that did not sell in the Online Auction completed on May 18, 2018.

Not only that!  We also identified items that TeacHaiti specifically needed and participated in the Online Auction.  We were able to purchase items valued at more than $150,000 to send to the two schools!

We outfitted computer labs for both school locations, (81 computers) and purchased multiple smart boards and other technical equipment.  These are Items that would never be available to a child in  Haiti.  We also purchased complete rooms of desks and chairs and teachers equipment! 

Of course, as generous as  Lake has been, we are now in need to get these items to Haiti.  We have ordered the first 40’ shipping container to arrive at Lake High School on June 1, 2018 and are quickly finding that we will need a second. 

The cost of shipping each container is $4,800.00.

Haiti Customs, duties, taxes, wharfage ,  etc. is estimated to between $2,500.00 to $3,500.00

Online Auction items including  10 Smart Boards,  81 Computers,  Furnishings, desks, chairs,  Cabinets, etc came to $8,400.

This is our opportunity to bless the Children of Haiti with resources that they could only dream of and would never become a reality without your support.
