2016 Ladies Tailwheel Scholarships

Our women's flying organization 'LadiesLoveTaildraggers' is trying hard to raise $2950 that will allow
- one female nosewheel pilot to earn her Tailwheel Endorsement, AND
- one female tailwheel pilot to complete a Stick & Rudder Master Class
Our goal is to award two scholarships to two well-deserving, passionate lady aviatrixes! Pictured above are 2015 scholarship winners Stirling Moore from Wyoming and Amal Ajmi from Alaska.
Scholarhip funding is especially needed this year. Our scheduled 2015 LLT fly-in at Sulphur Springs, TX had to be canceled 4 days before the fly-in when a tornado hit the KSLR airport. Awful for Sulphur Springs airport, who is still recovering, and sad for LadiesLoveTaildraggers.
We had planned a Poker Run and to pass-the-hat to raise money for our scholarships but that could not happen.
When things are down, help still happens. I would like to thank the following people who donated to our poker run, even though there was no fly-in. Their donations completed 2015 and have kick-started our 2016 fundraising: Marie Beaver, Kelly Jeffries, Tina Thomas, Darren Lucke, Dianne Wieman, Ken Felix and Cindy Weber.
And a special "thank you" to Carrie Hoagland of Wisconsin and Dee Ann Ediger of Oklahoma who have already generously donated to our 2016 campaign.
2016 Scholarship winners will receive training in a Cessna 140. All instruction for one of the two courses has again been donated by Brian Lansburgh at Tailwheel Town, a value of $950. BUT we still need to raise funds for our scholarship winners to get to and from Sister's Airport in Oregon, pay basic expenses and cover the second class.
By donating to the LadiesLoveTaildraggers Scholarship Fund you will be supporting both women nosewheel & tailwheel pilots. There's no better way to show your commitment to the advancement of women pilots, and help spread the LadiesLoveTaildraggers mission "to encourage women everywhere to have fun flying taildraggers!"
Scholarship applications will be available online as soon as funding is received. The first scholarship application form posted will be for the Tailwheel Endorsement Scholarship. If we are able to fully fund a second scholarship, the Stick & Rudder Master Class Scholarship will be advertised. We are not limited to just two scholarships though. The more donations we receive, the more scholarships we can provide!
