LGBTQ+ Of FIRST Lapel Pins Round 2!

Hello Everyone, my name is Jon Kentfield, and I have been a member of the FIRST Robotics community for over 15 years. In 2016 a few of the LGBTQ+ members of our community came forward to create a blog and a safe place for people in the community to get advice, and learn about LGBTQ+ issues and how they can have an effect on FIRST teams.
While having a conversation with one of these great students last year, we discussed ways that these students can both add some visibility, if they feel safe to do so, and show that they are not alone to students whom may still feel unsafe being out. We grew this into a broader campaign last year, and included many amazing mentors and volunteers.The goal of this Go Fund Me campaign is to raise funds to allow for the creation of a second round of lapel pins for the students and mentors whom are interested. The reason we have chosen Go Fund Me as our platform is to allow for easy collection of funds from mentors, parents, volunteers and others to support the creation of these lapel pins. By the way, if you know me personally, and would prefer to not give online, DM me and we can arrange your gift another way. My personal goal is to continue to create these pins for the students, without them ever needing to spend any of their own money. Last year we managed to raise $1,380 dollars, and produce 1600 of these pins all within about 2 months!My goal this year is to almost triple that number! I am looking to hit a goal of $3,750, which would allow for the creation of at least 5,000 more pins and shipping them to members of the blog community! I am hoping that by starting the campaign earlier this year, I can reach more donors, and we can still hit the target and get the pins done well before the FIRST® Robotics Competition kickoff, and hopefully still in time for some FIRST® Tech Challenge qualifiers! Any additional funding would likely go toward more pins, pronoun ribbons, or other things the LGBTQ+ of FIRST group needs.

P.S. last year there were many requests from individuals and teams to purchase large quantities of pins, and instead of having a way to purchase them, we instead gave them as close to the request as we could from the general stock. This year, I would like to instead take any such requests during the fundraising period. Please reach out via direct message to me, and we can discuss the details there.
Please note, that any money given is currently considered a private gift to me, and is not tax deductible as the LGBTQ+ of FIRST group does not have a registered 501(c)3. Also, please remember that Go Fund Me does take a portion of any gifts given through the site as a service usage fee, and so the targeted goal takes those fees into mind.
