If you had the chance to help the woman who started Lost Dogs of the Finger Lakes, would you? If you had the opportunity to say thank you for all that she's done to save our dogs and reunite the families of our communities, would you? Well here's your chance. She's much too proud to ask for the help and when she sees what I've done here with this GoFundMe, I'll have some fast talking to do....but as I've always been told, it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission. And now....for the rest of the story. Lisa, our founder, rescued an abandoned pup in May of 2019. She did so just days after losing her beloved Boo - her soul dog of 14 years. Her new baby, named Johnny Cash after her young son's favorite musician, has been her heart and soul since the loss of Boo. Last weekend, Sunday to be exact, Lisa noticed that Johnny Cash wasn't quite himself. By mid-morning she knew that he needed to see a vet and that it couldn't wait. She packed Cash in the car and headed off to see the amazing folks at Colonial Vet Hospital in Ithaca. It was determined that Cash had an intestinal blockage and he underwent emergency surgery that day. Thanks to God and the amazing folks at Colonial, Cash is on the mend. Lisa brought him home today and is doing what she does best - saving and nurturing. But to bring him home and save his life, cost her over $5000.00. Folks, I know her and while I know she wouldn't say a peep, this is money she doesn't have and will have to move heaven and earth to find. For all the times she's come to our rescue, it's our turn to come to hers. Thank you in advance for any donation you can afford and as Lisa would say, Dog bless you.
