Help Kylie Get Her Ears Back

While many things are replaceable, some come at a very high price. Sunday started off as a beautiful, hot Texas day and what better way to spend it than going out on a friend’s new boat to swim and play? We had no idea that it would turn into a nightmare which left us fighting for our lives. Many know by now the severity of the storms which hit on Sunday, they did not spare us on Lake Ray Hubbard. The swells and wind beat the boat we were in until it lasted no longer... with 14 people on board, 6 of which were children, our boat capsized. Only by the grace of God, we managed to save every child and every adult made it out with their own life. The things which were lost are just that, things. They are all replaceable, however some things are incredibly expensive... they are also things most would say you can’t even put a price on... like life, or the ability to ‘hear’. Kylie, in the midst of swimming for her life, lost her Processors for her Bilateral Cochlear implants Nucleus 6 ($10,000 each) And a water proof accessory ($350). These things are not ‘just things’... they allow her to hear. We thought the warranty which was just recently purchased protected from this type of loss, we were wrong. It did not cover loss. The cost for replacement will have to come out of pocket. We currently have one back up device that’s working and attempting to fix another. No one ever thinks these things will happen to them, until it does. Anything helps, even if it’s just a share.
