This Go Fund Me page has been set up by the Cincinnati friends of Jason and Heather Kroeger.   They came to Cincinnati just one week ago in order to seek specialized medical help regarding the birth of their conjoined twins.  Heather is currently 36 weeks pregnant.  Here is their story.  Please consider keeping them in your prayers and making a donation for this urgent and serious situation.

Jason and Heather were high school sweethearts.  They grew up and met in Rochester, NY.  After being married in 1999 Jason's job took them to Winston-Salem area in North Carolina.  God blessed them with 5 children (Jacob age 17, Elizabeth age 15, James age 13, Isaiah age 10, and Julia age 4).  Heather and Jason were thrilled this year when they found out they were once again pregnant and due on October 1, 2017.  At the end of the first trimester they were informed that that they were having twin boys and they are conjoined   (see ultrasound photo).  At 35 weeks they were advised to travel to Cincinnati because the hospital near their home was not sure they were equipped to handle their situation.  It was at that time that a group of their homeschool friends came to their home and gave them $500 for gas money and gift cards for food to help get them and their children to Cincinnati. We are grateful that the Jesuits in Cincinnati provided immediate shelter and care during the first few days in Cincinnati.  Elijah and Isaac Kroeger

It is no surprise that they have been advised several times throughout the pregnancy to abort these two little precious souls.  They rejected such a thought right out of hand.    We are asking you to consider giving a donation to help this young couple who has been faithful to God's plan for life and love.  They carry a heavy cross right now as they are facing the unknown.  The babies will be delivered at any time.  We are trying to raise funds for extensive pre and post medical costs, lodging, food, travel, and other family needs. Heather and the children are in Cincinnati while Jason has returned to North Carolina to work and be with their older high school son.

Please keep Heather, Jason and their family in your prayers for a safe delivery and that they are sustained by grace during this time of medical uncertainty.  Also pray for the medical teams that will be with them… that they are kind, respectful, and share the deep respect for life that Jason and Heather so strongly embrace.

Friends, we cannot see what God sees.  Nor can we always understand the "hows" and "whys".  This family has inspired so many of us with their trust in God and love for these babies.  Thanks to all those who have already helped to assist this family since their arrival in Cincinnati just one week ago.  And thanks to all of those who share their belief that every life is precious.  Jason and Heather are very humble and private people.  We asked them to allow us to ask others for help.  They agreed.  The need is urgent and immediate.   Thank you!

Dear friends,

Jason and Heather thank you all again for the incredible prayer and financial support. Because your gifts were so plentiful and generous all funeral and burial expenses have been taken care of.

If you would like to honor Elijah and Isaac, please generate any donations to Ronald McDonald House in Cincinnati, OH. This home was so kind and truly caring to the Kroeger family during their stay in Cincinnati. It would be a joy for the Kroegers to know other families were supported during a time of illness of their loved ones.

Please keep Heather, Jason, Jacob, Liz, Jimmy, Isaiah and Julia in your prayers. Their hearts are heavy right now while at the same time full of knowledge their sons and brothers are with our Lord.
Thank you and God bless you all! You have been a miracle to this family!

Dear faithful friends, prayer warriors and supporters,

This is not the news we wanted to share.
Elijah and Isaac Kroeger passed peacefully into the next life on Friday, April 6, 2018 while in the arms of their parents Heather and Jason. During their last days between Good Friday and the Friday of the Octave of Easter, the darling boys were surrounded by Mom, Dad and their five adoring siblings. The love for these sons and brothers was obvious to all who met the Kroegers.

Over the past 2 ½ months Elijah and Isaac had weakened for a variety of reasons. Their complicated anatomy made it very difficult to overcome the battle for life here on earth.

They died as fully initiated Catholics and infant disciples of Our Lord Jesus Christ. During the course of their earthly life they celebrated with The Church the Holy Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and The Eucharist. They also received the Sacrament of the Sick on multiple occasions and at the end were consoled with the Last Rites, Prayers and Blessings of Holy Mother Church. They bring their baptismal garments unstained into the everlasting Life of heaven with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We are confident that The Blessed Mother will continue the parenting begun by Jason and Heather and now be raising them as her own boys and preparing them to one day meet their family in the resurrected and glorified bodies assured to all Jesus’ faithful followers.

As friends of the family, we ask one more time for a generous outpouring of prayers and financial support to help meet the need of funeral and burial expenses. The family is back home in North Carolina making plans and the deep prayers will sustain the family as they grieve. The expense of transporting Elijah and Isaac, funeral preparation and cemetery expenses will be over $8,000.

From the moment the Kroegers found out about their sons unique anatomy nothing but complete and total respect for life in all stages and forms was bestowed upon Elijah and Isaac. Heather and Jason would like to thank the staff at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center for the loving and expert treatment provided during delivery, surgeries and day to day care of Isaac and Elijah. Many happy moments were celebrated including Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Easter! The boys were loved by all!

Final burial arrangements are being made now and will be shared later. To send a card or condolences, St. Joseph Catholic Church Asheboro, 512 W Wainman Ave, Asheboro, NC 27203 c/o Heather and Jason Kroeger.

Heather and Jason want to share the latest health updates on Elijah and Isaac who are now 6 months old!
In January Isaac had surgery. Because of the surgery, Elijah was intubated when before he had been breathing on his own. Due to an infection from the surgery, Elijah and Isaac became very sick and have had such a difficult month. While they now are not as sick as they were right after the surgery, they are still not back to where they were before the setback. UGH!
So much patience and trust is required from this family right now. They truly are champions as they have battled this illness alongside their sons. The boys are slowly feeling better and are even cracking smiles again.
The hospital has been so helpful. Music therapy and occupational therapy have continued now that the boys have shown signs of their health improving.
Please pray for their continued healing and of course for the entire family. The hope and desire is to get them back to North Carolina. Please pray for this.
Thank you all again! The prayers matter greatly!
