Justice for Amber Berbiglia

My beautiful 23-year-old daughter (Amber Berbiglia) was BRUTALLY MURDERED on May 3rd, 2013 on Old Sanders Road, (under the Robert Edge Parkway), North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in broad DAYLIGHT!!! Her car was running. The first responders found her severely beaten body and saw how she fought back at her attackers but she was already gone. Her phone was chirping with email and missed call alerts just a few inches from her fingertips.

Amber was a college student that just finished her Finals. While in college, she went to study abroad in Europe and while in London she met her fiancé Jose. She was supposed to be married within a few weeks of her murder. Amber was not only my beautiful daughter, she was a little sister, loving granddaughter, a fiancé, niece, cousin, best friend both here in South Carolina but also in upstate New York (Coxackie) where she graduated from school.

To date, the case remains unsolved. Police followed all the leads they received at the time but none panned out. While the brutality of the crime suggests she may have known her attacker(s), no suspects or persons of interest were ever named. It is now a cold case and no one expects it to ever be solved unless someone comes forward with some concrete leads.

May 3, 2018 will mark the five-year anniversary of Amber’s homicide. Please help me find my daughter’s murder(s). I believe the only way is to raise a reward fund. Shortly after her slaying, Crime Stoppers offered a $1000 reward which was later upped to $6000. This did not produce any credible leads. I believe the only way some people may share what they know is for the reward to be of a substantial amount. Perhaps the person that knows what happened is reluctant to come forward for fear of retribution. Life changing money might help this person tell the authorities what they know and allow them to move out of harm’s way. Also, as important as any donation you might make, your ideas and prayers will also be helpful in bringing the proper person(s) to trial for their heinous acts. As her mother, I will never rest until justice is served.
