Since November 2017 my son has been very sick with vomiting loss of appetite and headaches his name is Joseph Trujillo he is a 13-year old soon-to-be 14 on the 16th of March young man who is sweet kind-hearted generous and funny he enjoys playing on his hockey team, playing sports with the Rio Rancho Special Olympics as a partner and athlete. He has also dedicated the last three years to Lincoln Middle School to their robotics club. Joseph is a well involved young man. On Friday March 2nd his and our world got turned upside down. He went for a CT scan and it revealed that he had a mass on his 4th vertical of his brain. Six hours later he was getting transferred by ambulance to have emergency brain surgery. Sadly the results came back that he has a brain tumor that is cancerous and has spread to his spinal cord. Because of the degree and location of this cancer Joseph will have to have a special radiation only available in Houston Texas for up to three months. This is taking a toll on our family emotionally and financially. My husband is the sole income provider of our family. He does not qualify for FMLA at this time. He will have to take an unpaid leave of absence from work. We are a family of six, sadly I will be unable to be with my son in Houston. I will be staying here in New Mexico with our other children. It is not possible to relocate the whole family for the next three months at this time due to the varying disabilities of my other three children and their commitments to school. When my son returns back to New Mexico after radiation he will have another nine months of chemo and recovery time. For our family this is will be a very hard year emotionally and financially. I have added up what our loss of income for the course of my son’s radiation and chemo therapy. I am seeking to hopefully raise enough funds to help keep our family okay. Thank you everyone for taking time to read my story and donating anything you can every dollar helps. May god bless you.

Good morning we are still needing prayers for Joseph. he has an infection in the lining of his stomach causing him to be in excruciating pain and throwing up blood his white blood count is so low he is having a hard time fighting off the infection they have him on a morphine drip and in isolation he hasn't been able to eat anything in three days. he has already had a blood transfusion and platelets. They gave him antibiotics, magnesium and potassium. Hopefully with everything they're giving him he will get better soon.

Joseph has come so far he's had his ups and downs but through it all he tries to stay strong and keep a smile on his face. He is the strongest person I know, he still has three more rounds of chemo to get through. they've had to hold off on a portion of his chemo because he is very weak in his legs and muscles. we want to thank you for the continuous support and your generosity it has helped more than words can explain. thank you all very much and God bless you all.
Joseph having a good day

Joseph has had his ups and downs the last couple months. Sadly he is experiencing all the hard side effects of chemo. He has weakness in body, neuropathy, cramping in hands, loss of hearing and a drop in potassium. He still gets sick to his stomach. We just keep praying for a break for him. it breaks our heart to see him so week and helpless. We (mom and dad) have tried to keep our sadness and how scared we are to ourselves but it is has taken a lot of us emotionally. We pray that he will kick cancers butt and be back to the same helpful, caring and independent person we all know he was.
getting a blood transfusion. 8/30/19
