Jim Walsh, ACC fighter - Stage 4
Donation protected
Our little brother Jimmy (age 26) had what we believe to be a stroke on 9/21/13 while visiting his cousins in Bloomington, IL. He was rushed to the ER and doctors discovered that he had 6 tumors on his brain. Three life threatening tumors were removed during emergency surgery the morning of 9/22/13. Due to the stroke, Jimmy has limited mobility (paralysis) on his right side, but doctors are encouraged that he will have full movement with rehabilitation.
Jimmy has been transferred to Northwestern Hospital in Chicago and is fighting the battle of his life against a stage 4 diagnosis of a rare salivary gland cancer, Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma.
Currently, the cancer has spread to his lungs, kidneys, and brain - but we have an aggressive treatment plan and are prepared to battle this disease alongside Jimmy.
Given the fact Jim and his family will be displaced and medical bills will grow, any donations given to the family via this site will be used towards Jimmy's medical bills and family lodging / transportation while he's in treatment at RIC and Northwestern.
Thank you very much for your support, prayers, and messages during this difficult time. Our family and Jimmy have no words for the appreciation we feel towards all of you. We love our little brother very much and are hopeful that Jimmy will recover from this terrible disease.
