On Friday, August 26, 2016, Coach Jim Cox died unexpectedly. Coach Cox was instrumental in launching and building the lacrosse program in Merritt Island, Florida, and more importantly, investing in the lives of players and parents. In celebration and memory of Coach Cox, we are raising funds to support funeral and other unplanned expenses for the family.
"Coaches inspire hopes, nurture dreams, and encourage success. They show you that life means sometimes wining with honor and losing with grace. They support the talented, comfort the troubled, and promote good character. Coaches are everyday heroes." Coach Jim Cox was an everyday hero!
Three phrases characterized Jim Cox as a coach: he loved to compete, he walked with humility, and he lived to care. Like all coaches, Coach Cox was passionate about the game he coached. While winning was the target, Coach Cox loved being on the sideline teaching lacrosse fundamentals and coaching the game he loved so much. Anyone who knew Coach Cox spoke of his gentle, humble, and caring spirit. He cared deeply for his family and for others, and always gave freely of his time and expertise, without any financial reward.
As a legacy to Coach Cox’s impact on the sport of lacrosse, influence on athletes and their families, and in support of his wife and children, please give in memory of Coach Cox. While Janice, Jordan, Justin, Jimmy, Jacki and the family are not the type of people to ask for it, they are going to need all of the help that they can get over the next several months to cover expenses and future financial needs. 100% of the donations received in this campaign will go directly to his wife, Janice.
