I am a China Studies Graduate Student at the University of Washington and will be attending the Intensive Summer Language Exchange Program at Sichuan University in Chengdu, China.
This summer study abroad would be the opportunity of a lifetime. It will allow me to apply all that I have studied in my first year of Graduate School and have third-year Chinese language proficiency by graduation in 2015. Additionally,it would get me closer to my long-term goal of working for a non-profit organization that promotes positive U.S.-China relations.

The requested funding includes tuition, housing, and other expenses. My goal is to raise $12,491, but this figure does not include expenses of textbooks, meals, visa, immunization, transportation, and insurance. Exact expenses are:
Tuition: $9,066
Airfare: $1,500
Housing & Cultural Activities: $1,125
Study Abroad Fee: $300
