Have A Heart For Jason

*** Update ***

Jason passed away on May 9th from cardiac arrest.  Although he was sick, his death was unexpected at this time.  He had been doing fairly well (for him).
He leaves behind an 8 year old daughter and 39 year old wife who thought the world of him.  He was one of the most incredible men you could ever meet.  We miss him everyday.

This is Jason today as he sleeps with his Grumpy Cat. He is a 42 year old husband and father of a beautiful 8 year old daughter.
Jason was born with a disease called Pulmonary Atresia with Ventricular Septial Defect, this then led to Pulmonary Hypertension and now Kidney Failure.
We have started this page to help with the burdening expenses of living in the hospital.  His wife has taken off of work nearly everyday that he has been in the hospital this year. This has lead to hardships in their finances.

Jason has been in the hospital for over a months time this year. He has been told he has little options left. His next step will likely be dialysis which could give him possibly 6 months or up to a year of life if he responds to it well.

** Update** Jason is scheduled to have surgery today, February 24th.  He is having surgery to put a catheter in his stomach to start peritoneal dialysis immediately. The doctors had to figure out a way to complete this because this usually takes 4 weeks to start. He does not have 4 weeks.

We we are all watching him slip away from us everyday.

Jason is in constant pain. His legs are severely swollen. His stomach is swollen and so is his lower back. It hurts him to walk and if he walks too fast he feels as if he will pass out, yet he keeps fighting and will do everything to have as much time with his daughter as he can.

Jason did want to take her on a road trip but everyday that goes by it seems less that his will happen.  We are praying that this surgery for dialysis goes well because this is the last chance he has for a little more time with us.
We are requesting funds for bills, the cost of living away from home for the extended period of time and any left over will go to a college fund for Emma. We do need the funds immediately though.

Please consider making a donation to this fund to help a guy who has fought his whole life but cannot fight anymore.

Thank you.
We have started a Twitter account @JasonGsHeart that you can follow for all updates on Jason's last journey.
