James Pace loved his family and died while trying to provide for them. His wife Candy earlier in the day texted him to come home - that the job was not worth "falling out and falling off a roof." But he texted her back that they needed this paycheck. They didn't have much in material posessions, but they understood that happiness is found in more than what you own. James loved God and he loved his family - of which mine was blessed to be part of. He once told me, "Candy and the girls have changed my life." That is true to the core. Now that he is gone, they have lost half of their income, but more than that, they've lost a husband, father, and provider. How appropriate this verse is in James: James 1:27 says, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”
