Our Journey To Become Parents!

Our fertility journey started 2 1/2 years ago right after we got married. We knew we were ready to start a family but never knew it was going to take us on the path it has.  With trying naturally for a year with no results we knew it was time to  get some answers and help.  We started seeing a fertility specialist to complete some testing for both of us. We found out that we were going to need some assistance with trying to conceive.  We did 2 IUI (intrauterine insemination) cycles using clomid and a trigger shot  with no success and another failed cycle with just using medications . With the cost of each IUI being $1000.00 ,  the numerous appointments and taking off work we knew we may need to look into the next step, IVF.  Knowing that the average IVF cycle can cost between $10,000-$15,000 or more we  were at a loss of how we were going to be able to make this work. Our insurance does not cover any of these procedures... 
We have looked for grants, scholarships, and  other resources for finantial assistance but most of them are only offered once a year and thousands of people are applying for the same resource. 
Finaly our fertility clinic advertised for an IVF study! Of course once I saw the ad, I called them right away to see if we qualified for it.  We are in the beginning phases of the study. With this study we would not have to pay the full cost of a normal IVF cycle though it is still going to be expensive and must be paid in full up front.  We are praying that everything works out and we can be a part of this amazing study to help us bring the gift of life home!
