This fund is to help Justin and Terra Dodson. They have been married for 10 years. They came together 10 years ago with a dream to open their own local business, and to have a baby. At the age of 20, Terra was diagnosed with a medical condition called, endometriosis. For many women this does not affect their ability to have a baby. Terra’s case was so extreme, that not only was it hindering her ability to get pregnant, but by the age of 27 she had to have a hysterectomy. With their dream of having a baby gone, and with 34 combined years of experience in the service industry, Justin and Terra poured their whole lives into opening a local tavern; The Man Cave Sports Bar in Reno, NV.
After years of saving money and looking for an affordable location, they spent 3 months renovating an outdated, run down bar and transforming it in to a clean, entertaining, fun place for friends to hang out, play games, and feel at home away from home. Inside and outside of the bar, that is the kind of people they are; they go out of their way to make people feel comfortable and like family. They have organized birthday parties, they set up holiday dinners (every holiday!) for people who have no one to spend holidays with, and they host charity events to make sure we are giving back to the community.
Their friends and co-workers have watched them over the years pour their heart and souls, sweat and tears, and all of their money into this project. The business is not failing, it is new. As with any new small business there are struggles and sacrifice for the financial wellbeing of the business. They have given up luxuries like cable television and vacations. They have sacrificed things that many take for granted like days off from work, time with family, and food! They work 12-16 hours a day, 7 days a week, and now they are about to sacrifice their home too.
This fund is to help Justin and Terra. We want to save their home, make sure they can eat every day, pay for their bills, and put money into the bar to keep it open for everyone.
Thank you!
