As many of you know, I lost my daughter Jade to suicide in July, 2018. I had been struggling with ways to honor her life and remember her beautiful personality and talents in a positive light.
Jade graduated from Tourtellotte Memorial High School in 2014. While there, she participated in soccer, track and basketball. She was a member of the diversity club, drama club, video club, prom committee, yearbook committee and FBLA. She volunteered at local animal shelters and enjoyed travel immensely. During her life, Jade was a well-rounded woman with an amazing sense of humor and dedication to making others feel accepted and valued.
To honor her spirit, I have set up a memorial fund to present a yearly scholarship to a graduating senior from Tourtellotte Memorial High school every June.
Through June 2019, June 2020, and June 2021 I have presented six $1000 scholarships to two deserving seniors. Jade's Scholarship fund has also assisted the boys and girls basketball teams by donating money towards their warm-up jerseys.
It is because of your support (and some personally organized paint nights and fund-raising raffle baskets) that I will continue to use this account to keep Jade's memory alive in a positive light.
