Please Help Ira's  Battle To Fight Cancer

Cancer cannot cripple love. It cannot silence courage, destroy friendships, shatter hope or conquer the spirit. You need only know our friend and brother Ira Green to know that's true.

Ira is one of those rare people who actually is “a forever friend.” Friendships always have been his most precious possession, nurtured through decades of regular contact with his childhood crowd, college classmates and business colleagues.

Above all, Ira has been a friend to children and families through his special camps and programs for children who suffer with chronic obesity and eating disorders.
Ira was an obese child, and the disorder nearly took his life as an adult. But with determination and expert help, he found his way back to health and happiness.
In gratitude, he dedicated the rest of his life to helping children whose struggle was his own. Through Ira's “Camp Timber Creek” and Healthy Kids Foundation, thousands of children have found strength, courage and hope for a better future.The key to his system has been the unconditional love he showers on people. Ira stays in constant contact with his former campers, and is always there to help them in time of need with advice and praise. Those who know Ira well are not surprised by the power of his love and generosity.

Ira never sought or derived wealth or personal gain from his camps and foundation. By choice, most of the children and families he welcomed to his camps were of modest means, and many were from impoverished backgrounds.

Ira has given so much to others, but never thought he would need help in return. Now he finds himself in need of your outreach and love.

Ira now is battling colon and liver cancer. Fortunately, his doctors have told him about some promising advanced treatments for his type of cancer and have outlined a comprehensive plan that will last for well over a year. He has been given hope that, if successful, his life can be extended by several years.

 That hope is strengthened by Ira's recent marriage to his beloved wife, Stacey. They are wonderful people individually, but together are true soul mates. They already have overcome many obstacles together. They deserve and are praying for many years of happiness ahead.
The truth is that Ira and Stacey now face a prolonged battle against this disease without the considerable financial resources it will require. Needless to say, his expenses will far outnumber his financial abilities.
