14th March 2016.....
We are down to single figures..... 9 days to go until Indi heads off to the USA to compete.
I think we have most things that are dance related sorted.. Just a couple of little things to attend to.
Indi danced at Impact Dance Lab last week and it was AMAZING, I hadn't seen her dance Bluebird in almost 12 months WOW what a difference a year makes.
Once we arrive in Florida, we shall keep everyone updated with how the competition is going. Thank you again for your support.. :) :)
3rd March 2016......
SOOO CLOSE to our target.. AND just under THREE (3) weeks to go... THANK YOU soo very much to EVERYONE who has supported Indi both financially and emotionally.. She wouldn't be doing this without you xxxx
UPDATE..UPDATE...UPDATE....
Last Thursday (7th Jan) Indi was informed that she has been successful in her audition for the Youth International Ballet Competition and has a place in the finals... By all accounts this competition is the 2nd biggest ballet competition in America.... 6,000 auditioned/applied and 400 have made it to the finals...
This is so very exciting!!!!!!!!
Not sure if we are able to take up this offer in Daytona Beach, Orlando Florida. What will be, will be and all we can do is give it our best shot to raise funds.. xx
We need to let the organisers know by the 22nd January.
Competition commences 29th March 2016.
My name is Indianna, although my friends call me Indi, and my dream is to take up a dance scholarship in Denver Colarado USA in June/July 2016
I am 13yrs old and I have been dancing since I was 2 yrs old. Since the age of 7, I have become very passionate about dance, in particular classical ballet and contemporary. I have been dancing at Regional Academy of Performing Arts in Wodonga Victoria for the past 5 years under the direction of Victoria Capes and more recently Tim Podesta.. I dance at RAPA 21 hrs per week on average, and my family drive approx 1,000kms per week (10hrs driving time) to get me there and back 5 times per week. I am also a student at The Australian Ballet School - interstate training programme, having held a position there for the past 3 years, and about to enter my fourth year at the ABS. I have successfully competed and performed in major dance competitions in Australia and New Zealand. In mid October 2015, I was awarded a Summer Intensive Programme scholarship to The National Ballet Academy in Denver Colarado USA. I am soooo excited to receive this scholarship, as it is a dream of mine to train overseas and one day perform in one of the amazingly talented companies in either America, England or Europe.
My family and I (mum, dad, and my 2 younger sisters) are asking for help to help pay for my airfare, accommodation and food. To receive help financially, will allow me to take up this amazing scholarship for 4 weeks... It will also allow me to get the most out of this wonderful opportunity, as I shall be boarding at the NBA residence and the cost of 4 weeks accommodation is not cheap... US $1500 for the accommodation and US $1120 for food for 4 weeks (they charge US $40 per day to provide meals)
We are required to pay for my airfare in February/March 2016 and accommodation and food balances are due in April 2016.
Thank you so much for reading this and I hope you can spare a little change to help me make my dream a reality,
I will be eternally grateful to each and every person who helps me get to Denver Colarado and I promise I will keep you updated on my progress.
With many many thanks
Indi Drew
