Music Video for Africa/the Diaspora
I have been working for years to give back to the people who created the culture -- Hip Hop -- that helped save my life. I have worked with 100s of artists around the world, and this culminated recently with a global collaboration highlighting the work of rappers, singers, producers and DJs from 9 countries and 4 continents across the Motherland (Africa) and the Diaspora.
Yes, we were able to reveal our talents, and the uniqueness (as well as the interconnectedness) of our lives, through audio -- but with a Music Video we will be able to truly showcase what it's like to strive for success as an independent artist in South Africa, Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zambia, Jamaica, France, Canada, and the United States.
We're accepting donations NOW. The artists are already doing whatever they can to find the resources to film their parts in their respective homelands -- in some cases, in spite of war, poverty, and environmental and technological limitations. And we will persevere.
With your donation, we will be able to make something powerful, even transformative, with the footage we accumulate. Without your help, we may be stuck with a collection of moving images.
Any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
