Chicago Horse Carriage Fire Recovery Fund

On the morning of February 6, 2015, a fire destroyed many horse carriages in an Old Town stable. Thankfully, no horses or people were hurt. However, the owners of Great Lakes Carriage Company, owned by Jim Rogers and Valerie Ball Rogers, and Antique Horse and Carriage, owned by Debbie Hay, need our help to replace their carriages since they were not insured for fire. Being a carriage owner is not just a job – it is a livelihood, a calling – it is who they are.

No donation is too small or too large. Thank you and please share!

As you may have heard, the fire has officially been ruled arson. The FBI and other agencies are involved in the ongoing investigation. You can read more about it here:

Thank you all so much for your support!

Both companies have found carriages, which is wonderful because it means they will be back in business this coming weekend (just in time for Valentine's Day!), but they still need help paying for those carriages and the other equipment that was lost in the fire. Won't you please keep donating and sharing?

And in more good news, Valerie Ball Rogers gave birth to a beautiful baby boy! Congratulations to her and Jim!

I am so disturbed by what has happened. I am sorry to all who suffered at the hands of the ignorant and uninformed.
