Hope for Holly medical fund
Donation protected
Holly has a rare, life-threatening disease called Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome (KTS). The cause is unknown and there is currently no cure. KTS is characterized by a port-wine stain that overlies a malformation of the veins. Some of the complications of this disease include bleeding, infections, and severe pain. Holly describes her pain as feeling like a hot iron is being held on her skin. Doctors in most hospitals and emergency rooms don’t know what to do for her because they have never heard of this disease. Standard treatment for bleeding, infection, and pain often do not work for Holly. She has had surgeries at the University of Minnesota, Mayo, and Abbott Northwestern. She has also had many laser treatments, some successful and others not. There is no specific treatment that works for everyone. Because this is a rare disease, insurance does not cover all of the necessary treatments and medical equipment. Hope for Holly’s goal is to help the family with these mounting medical bills.
