It is with a heavy heart that we share this update from the Semer family:
"This morning Katie, our much loved wife and mother, earned her wings after her bravely-fought battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by beloved friends and family and passed over peacefully. We are so grateful for all of the love and support throughout this journey.”
Many of you have asked how you can support Ken, Sarah and Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a donation to assist the family with their celebration of Katie’s life. Any excess funds will be used to set up college funds for the girls. Thank you all so much for your love and compassion and for always embracing Katie, Ken, Sarah and Charlotte.
Services will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 32032 Lindero Canyon Rd, Westlake Village, Ca 91361:
Rosary: Monday, January 15th at 7:00 pm
Celebration of Life Mass: Tuesday, January 16th at 1:30 pm with reception to follow in the parish hall.

***STORY***
Many of you are aware that our dear friend Katie has been fighting the fight of her life for the past couple years with the return of her metastatic breast cancer. She's endured a craniotomy, chemotherapy, multiple gamma knife procedures and full brain radiation.
Although she's been tough and taken each step in stride while maintaining the sense of humor that she's known for, the extensive treatments have taken their toll on her energy and physical capabilities.
Last week, Katie was given news that the cancer has aggressively spread. They have recommended immediate gamma knife radiation on her brain. With her frail state, she will be in much need of home care so Ken can go to work. She will also be going for second and third opinions which may not be covered by her health plan.
How can you help? FIRST AND FOREMOST, PLEASE PRAY EVERYDAY THAT KATIE GETS HER MIRACLE AND GOD HEALS HER OF THE CANCER! Don't underestimate the power of each and every prayer! SECOND, THEY CAN USE ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO HELP PAY FOR MEDICAL BILLS AND HOME CARE SERVICES.
Katie, Ken and the girls are so grateful for all the support they have received on this journey! They ask for your continued prayers.
