Hope Playground ADA Merry-go-Round

The City of Redmond recently embarked on constructing its first fully inclusive playground. The new playground was the result of three and a half years of grassroots collaboration, design, planning and fund-raising. Funds for Redmond’s ‘Hope Playground’ were raised through donations, grants and in-kind labor by hundreds of volunteers, businesses and Kiwanis International Club. The positive imprint Hope Playground has already made here in Redmond is best described by members who have actively engaged with others at the park. A Redmond mother Kristine Andrews shares,

"Hope Playground has brought our family so much joy.  My son is able to play freely on equal ground with other children.  This is not only making a difference today but is planting seeds of inclusion and self worth for the future in everyone." 

 But we are NOT FINISHED!

We have one more key piece of equipment that needs to be purchased and installed to truly complete the playground.

The Merry-Go-Round we need to finish this project will allow people who have mobility limitations the opportunity to play with others on a Merry-Go-Round that does not require them to step up. This piece of equipment is essential of our goal to create a park which supports all ages and all abilties.
