Lisa Dunn and Vanessa DeCaria became best friends 14 years ago as neighbours living on the same street - a friendship that has endured the tests of raising children, the hardships of divorce and now the ravages of cancer.
At the early age of 50, Lisa was diagnosed with advanced stage 4 cervical cancer and was given only a year to live. Currently, she is undergoing chemotherapy in hopes of extending her life a few more precious months. As the single mother of Taylor and Josh, Lisa’s biggest concern hasn’t been for herself, but for the future of her two children. With no family to care for them, Vanessa and her family have opened their hearts and home to adopt them. To make room, an addition is desperately needed to create bedrooms for Josh and Taylor. They are extraordinary children, struggling to face a life without their mother. While their world is turned upside down, we hope to give them a space to set it right again. A place to heal and feel welcomed into a new family. As their friends and their village, we ask that you please support Josh, Taylor and the DeCaria’s as they face this difficult journey together. By raising funds for their family of now 7, we hope to ease some of the stress and financial pressure they will face.
