Holmes Elementary Boxing Program
Donation protected

The Holmes Elementary School is a full-inclusion, K0-5 public school in the heart of Dorchester, MA. Our students come from Dorchester, Hyde Park, Mattapan, and other parts of Boston, and represent diverse cultures, experiences, and abilities.
We strive to provide Holmes students with every opportunity to become leaders and advocates for themselves and for others. This year, we are piloting an innovative boxing program to reach a group of students that faces particular barriers to this goal: young boys of color who present with behavioral and emotional issues. These boys deserve an opportunity to focus their energy and learn self-discipline and leadership, and also to work with a mentor who provides an example of who they can become.
Currently, we have 9 boys participating with a volunteer mentor, and they have shown great improvement already in positive social skills, self-control, and a stronger desire to come to school and enjoy themselves!
We urgently need $30,000 to help fund this innovative program, specifically to help us purchase boxing equipment, pay a professional boxing mentor, and cover operational costs.
Please consider donating any amount towards this cause so we can continue this program and expand it over the next academic year. Your donation will directly improve these boys' educational and social-emotional development and will make a major impact in our community.
Thank you!
