You always hear about Cancer stories whether it be in movies, or books, or even on the news. You never imagine it will become part of your reality. Especially with your 21 year old husband.
On Janurary 21st, 2015 my husband, Ryan, woke up for PT like any normal day, except he knew something was very wrong. He was rushed to the Yuma Regional ER by ambulance with symptons of a stroke. After a X-Ray and Abdominal CT Scan to make sure it wasn't his appendix they decided to have a CT Scan done on his head. It came back abnormal, a cloudy wedge was found. With the MRI they were able to determine it was either a Stroke or a Brain Tumor. We were told to go home and follow up with base medical.
On January 22nd, 2015 Ryan was admitted into Yuma Regional per base medicals request only to be transferred by ambulance to the Naval Medical Center San Diego (Balboa) 172 miles away.  After a bumpy ride my husband arrived safely and more tests and scans were started. After a MRA and an MRV were done to determine he didn't have a stroke they decided it was a tumor. My husband had his first Brain Surgery on Janurary 27th, 2015 to remove the tumor. Thankfully it was successful, they were able to remove the majority of the tumor.

After several days in ICU he was finally cleared to move back to the 5th floor and his old room. He was feeling much better and a discharge date had been set. On Janurary 31st,  2015 the day he was suppsosed to be discharged things took a turn for the worse.  After taking several different pain killers to quell a "muscle spasm" nothing seemed to help it was determined he would need to stay longer. He woke up in the middle of the night, reached up to touch his head, and came away with his hand drenched in blood. We turned the light on and nurses rushed in. His pillow was covered in blood and it wasn't stopping. They rushed him to an emergency CT Scan which determined he had a Epidural Hematoma, A Brain Bleed.
On the morning of Feburary 1st, 2015 Ryan underwent another urgent Brain Surgery to stop a brain bleed. Thankfully they were successful! After another night in ICU and a CT Scan to make sure he wasn't bleeding anymore they were able to move my husband back to the 5th floor once more.
On Feburary 4th, 2015 Ryan was finally discharged to go home after a  2 week stay at the hospital. We made the trek home and we were finally reunited with our pups.

He's had several follow up appointments since, on Feburary 18th, 2015 he had an Oncology appointment. We found out he has a Oligastrocytoma and he'll have to undergo Chemotherapy and Radiation.
Unfortunatly with him having to undergo Chemo and Radiation there is a strong chance he will become sterile.

The first time I met Ryan I knew he was the one. As cliche as that sounds, it's true. We've been inseperable since the day we met in high school 4 years ago. We've laughed together, cried together, and grown together in these years. We've shared triumphs and downfalls along with accomplished life goals. When something like this happens and you are being faced with the fact that your soulmate may die, it changes your perspective on life in a big way.  You begin to cherish the little things more. It's been our dream to have children since the day we got married. We never expected to be told that might not happen. We have a short window avaliable to us for him to go to the Sperm Bank. We aren't usually people who ask for help, we always find a way to make due ourselves. But today we truly need some extra help. Please help make our dreams come true to one day be able to have our own family. Whatever you contribute whether it large or small or even if you just take the time to  read this already means so much to us.
Thank you for taking the time and reading our story!
