Mabe Family Support Fund

My family and I are setting up this donation page to help out with (my mom) Terri Mabe's medical bills. If you know her at all, then you know her as the amazing mother, wife, "Nana", "Matt's Mom", co-worker, or friend.

After having some problems with her equilibrium about a month ago, she was concerned she just had an inner-ear infection, but after her 3rd trip to the ER at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth, TX, the doctors discovered it was something more serious than that.

She was diagnosed with microseizures in the right frontal lobe of her brain. They were tiny seizures that were constantly firing for possibly up to 4 or 5 weeks. She was still working at TCU during this 4-5 week period, but on Monday, April 25, 2016, her co-workers informed me that her condition had worsened and she needed to go back to the hospital. Her personality had changed, and her wobbly walking had gotten a little worse.

So, after spending a whole week at Harris, The doctor and neurologist both agreed that being back at home in her most comfortable environment in Burleson would be best for her mental recovery, so she was released on Friday, April 29, 2016. They also said that with medication and good mental and physical therapy, that they believe she can make an 85-100% recovery. But right now at this beginning stage, she needs 24/7 monitoring and assistance, which all of us in the family are helping with.

The rehabilitation and recovery part is where we need your help. She isn't able to walk on her own, her speech is sparse and slow and while her memory and some mental functions work fine (she can do math problems and remembers very specific details of past events), she is going to need some extensive physical therapy to help her be able to walk on her own, along with mental therapy, possibly some in-home care as well.

As you can imagine, the bills really pile up for all of this. My dad, Mark Mabe was literally by her side the entire week in the hospital and will continue to be during this process, so he'll have to miss a lot of work on top of having all these bills coming in.

All the money donated by you guys will go towards these medical and rehab bills, along with the day-to-day home expenses and bills since my dad won't be working. Anything you guys can donate will be much appreciated and will help to get my mom back to 100%.
