Help Tay with Lawyer Fees

Tay has been living in NYC for 5 years and has contributed so much to the punk scene and those involved in it. She has always been the first one to step up for those in need, for those who need a place to stay, and especially for those who don't feel like they have a voice.
Unfortunately, due to a shitty set of circumstances, she is facing a September court date in regards to her immigration status that comes with an insurmountable amount of fees. A big part of this process is hiring a lawyer to help defend her. But these lawyer fees are extraordinarily high. Now it is up to us to pay it forward and help keep her here!
This is a pivotal moment that we need to act on immediately to prevent potentially irreparable harm to Tays ability to live here with the people who love and support her and who she loves and supports so much.
If New York loses Tay, it’s our loss. We will lose a huge community asset and dear friend. This money will insure that tay can continue contributing to the emotional ecosystem of our community, the musical ecosystem, making people laugh, doing real check ins with people in high stress situations, doing so much emotional labor so all of us can live in a more vibrant zone.
As of now, initial lawyer/processing fees are $6,000 and these are expected to continue climbing. While she has scraped together some savings, it has become nearly impossible to get all of the money together in the next week so that she can hire a lawyer and make her court date.

In order to meet GoFundMe's verification process...
I am Lulu, a friend of Tay's, I also live in NYC. These funds will be used to help pay for Tay's lawyer bills and the fees the follow. I will be withdrawing the money into my account and paying off Tay's lawyer bills next week. The rest will be sent directly to Tay and be held onto for a brief time for subsequent fees. Any left over money will be donated to a charity of Tay's choosing!
