Three days before her 31st Birthday, my otherwise perfectly healthy, dynamic, fearless sister Julie was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer.

What does it mean to have Stage 3 Breast Cancer?
Stage 3 cancer means the breast cancer has extended to beyond the immediate region of the tumor and may have invaded nearby lymph nodes and muscles. Although this stage is considered to be advanced, there are a growing number of effective treatment options including chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation.

For Julie, the road to recovery begins with 16 weeks of chemotherapy scheduled to begin November 11th, 2015. We are in the gifted hands of an extremely talented team at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia and confident we will overcome this battle together.

For those of you who know Julie, you know she is too stubborn to ever give up or let Cancer get the best of her. Let's face it, nothing has ever stopped her! She bubbles with passion in every aspect of her life, including supporting Bucks County as a life-long volunteer.

I could never have asked God for a more kindhearted, altruistic, and supportive big sister, truly beautiful on the inside and out.  She is my everything. And now I ask for your generosity and support, as we face this journey together.

Words are not enough to tell you how deeply we appreciate your help. Thank you will never feel grateful enough, but with all of my heart, THANK YOU!

It is with great sorrow that I share our beautiful angel Julie journeyed to heaven on Sunday, December 3rd. She passed away peacefully in her beloved Doylestown home after a two year battle with cancer. She was loved by all who knew her, with the brightest smile and hardest work ethic. Julie’s passion for life was undeniable and often seen through her affection for real estate.

Julie was and will always be a fighter – she never settled and she never took no for an answer. She was the bravest person I have ever met. Although we will never be whole again, I ask you, live your best life in honor of Julie.

Cancer is vicious, but do not let it rob you of your joy. Cherish your memories of Julie and be thankful for the time you shared. Squeeze your siblings a little tighter today; tell them that you love them.

The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 8th at the Doylestown Country Club from 11AM - 3PM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Central Bucks Family YMCA THRIVE Cancer Wellness Program.

Julie has had a challenging week at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She’s been experiencing severe pain in her abdomen and her back. She is on a steep regime of pain medication which makes her a little delirious but she wanted everyone to know that HUP’s yogurt was the “best yogurt” she ever tasted.

Please keep Julie in your prayers. Our family is THANKFUL to have each and every one of you in her life. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

Cancer is tough – and incredibly frustrating. Julie has been in and out of the Doylestown Hospital Emergency Room three times this week with severe pain, fever, and relentless coughing. It’s challenging for the doctors to determine the root cause of her illness. We’ve heard differing opinions of pneumonia or other alignments. Our family is working diligently to get Julie transferred to UPENN, to receive the best possible care. For now, the staff will continue with antibiotics, pain medication, and more testing.

Cancer and chemotherapy have weakened Julie’s immune system by affecting the blood cells that protect her against disease and germs. As a result, it’s harder for her body to fight infection. This makes every trip to the hospital incredibly stressful – it’s important to avoid exposing Julie to any excess germs.

Please keep Julie top of mind this week – send her STRENGTH and COURAGE as she overcomes this one day at a time.

I am so sorry to hear about this. Being a three-time survivor myself, a BRCA1 mutation carrier as well as both my sisters and my daughter, I can tell you that life will change, but it will go on. It is not easy, but I know Julie and she is strong. We met way back in the days of Keller Williams. Please give her my very best wishes.

I wish I could be there holding your hand. I wish I had a wand that could make you pain go away. You are a smiley Saint that does not deserve this deck of lousy cards. Your optimism is so invigorating! I cannot stop thinking about you. Love, Henri
