The Sperling family is completely focused on their daughter and kallah, Sarah bas Dina's complex medical condition and IY"H her recovery from the terrible #402 bus crash Sunday, February 14, 2016. She is off the respirator now; is in moderate but stable condition, but is in tremendous pain even while on pain medication. Please continue to daven and say tehillim for her!
At this time, they are confronted by many financial challenges, including IY"H her upcoming wedding scheduled for March 9, 2016 (which Rav Kanievsky Shlita paskened not to change). Besides caring for their children (including one special needs child), they now face many previously unexpected costs and are in need of major financial assistance.

Some of the mounting expenses now include:
Daily commute from Jerusalem to Asaf Haroeh Medical Center (a 114 km/71 mile round-trip)
Psychological support and treatment for their other daughter, also injured in the bus accident
Babysitting for their special needs child, as both parents spend each day at the hospital
Legal fees for filing claims (Please note that the major claim may only be filed at the end of the period of Rehabilitation for Sarah, which has not begun yet because she is still in the acute phase of treatment.)
Long-term commuting expenses to the rehabilitation facility, which will likely be either Tel HaShomer or Beit Levenshtein, both located in the Tel Aviv area

We are trying to raise $50,000 to reduce the burden on the Sperlings. Your generous donation will go a long way towards easing the stress and pressure on this wonderful family and will help them focus on Sarah's recovery and her wedding!

Thank you.

BS"D Rav Sperling (her father) wrote the following:
A month ago, our daughter, Sara bas Dina, was injured. We wanted to thank all those who davened for our daughter, and to tell about some of the miracles we have seen in the last month.
At the time of the injury, the doctors thought that the right leg would be amputated. Now they say that the leg will heal and be close to normal, be’ezrat Hashem. When the arm was reattached, they thought that the odds were 30% that the operation would be successful and the arm would remain attached. Today baruch Hashem the arm is attached and healing, against all odds.
BUT WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP: YOUR PRAYERS AND MITZVOT!
The right leg will only recover completely in a year or two (according to the doctors).
We will only know if the arm will function at all in a year or two (according to the doctors).
Sara is not allowed to be moved from the hospital bed.
The right arm is still vulnerable to infections or bleeding (for about another month).
PLEASE KEEP DAVENING AND DOING MITZVOT AS A MERIT FOR SARA’S RECOVERY!

BS"D Sarah bas Dina has been moved from I.C.U. to a regular room! She will be starting physical therapy. Her new nephew, born last Thursday is due for his bris IY"H this Thursday the same date the wedding was to have been (Hebrew Calendar date). IY"H it will take place where Sarah is hospitalized! The sondek at the bris IY"H will be Rav Chaim Kanievsky Schlita! IY"H Sarah will be able to watch/participate. Please keep davening and saying tehillim for her, remember, Sarah bas Dina is in the "I.P.U."--intensive prayer unit (coined by father Rabbi Avraham Sperling!)

BS"D Thank G-d, Sarah’s fever is down, but she has a resistant germ in her hand. It is not presently causing an infection. Please daven it does not cause her an infection.

They removed the special “vacuum” bandage from her arm, which is a good sign. She is still in ICU, and no word on when she might be moved to a regular hospital room.

As of now, Sarah does not have sensation in her reattached hand, but hopefully this will improve over time. Blood is flowing well to the hand and the color is good. The medical staff won’t know for sure for several months whether the hand is/will be functional.

They are not doing anything with the severely injured leg for at least 2 months so the bones can set.

One of the young ladies who know the Sperling family related that 750 girls took on an obligation to improve themselves as a merit for Sarah’s recovery. They signed papers attesting to that and presented those papers to the Sperlings, who are planning to have them bound!

With G-d’s help, may we continue hearing only good news !
