Let Jim Keep his foot!

Donation protected

Jim is married to his beautiful wife Magen and together they have four beautiful children ranging in age from 12 down to 22 months.

Jim sadly a year ago was diagnosed with osteomyelitis which is an infection in a bone. Infections can reach a bone by traveling through the bloodstream or spreading from nearby tissue.  Jim ended up loosing his big toe due to this.  All of this was caused by stepping on a shell and it getting infected.  Below are some very intense pictures.
This is the beginning of it. You can clearly see the difference in the feet.  The first doctor he went too told him it was just related to his diabetes, which he found out later it was not.
This was right after loosing the toe.  Everything looked good. They got all of the infection and Jim ended up having to have a total of 2 weeks off of work.  Being put in a walking boot and it was an easy recovery compaired to what some people go through.  Some require months off and physical therapy to learn to walk again. Since then, they have had to deal with chronic ankle issues due to the change in the way he walks.  Multiple cortizone shots in the ankle and the Doctor wants to do surgery on the ankle to fix the problems. We can't do that surgery because he has no time off.
While he was in the hospital we kept his spirits up as most as possible.  The kids would come and see him and we all took turns visiting him round the clock.
Sadly in August another blister came back, where the toe once was.  The doctor told him he needed to stay off of it.  To keep it wrapped and to keep it clean. Keeping it wrapped and clean is the easy part. However the staying off of it was the hard part.  Jim works 40 plus hours a week and hasn't been able to stay off of it.  He also keeps up with 4 kids under the age of 13.  No paid leave to stay off of it and a family to support there is no options.
Jim is now looking at loosing his foot if he can not stay off of his foot.  He has a total of 1 week of vacation time and needs to stay off of it for 6 weeks and on crutches minimum. His work can not accommodate the needs of this because of their policy and what he does.  He works in a wet enviroment.  He has gone from being insulin dependant to being controlled by diet and exercise.  He has since been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and they are trying to treat him for that as well, along with diabetic foot neuropathy.

I am asking you to please help my brother with one month off of work so he doesn't loose his foot and can continue to support his beautiful family.
Loosing his foot means more than just a loss of work for him, It means no more football practice, no more cheer practice.  No more of the way of life he has know for all of his adult life.  He has been a meat cutter in various grocery stores since he was 20 years old and he is 42 years old and will be an amputee.  Even disability alone will not cover what he makes in a month.  He has always helped me or my family in time of need. If I could I would give him anything in the world. But I don't have the money to give him.

The $3,000 would cover the 6 weeks off of work, The medical bills he will accumulate during the 6 weeks that he is off of work. The taxes he has to pay in while being off of work, and child support for his oldest daughter while off of work.

This is the only thing I could think of to try to help my family to do.  Please find it in your heart to help my Brother.  I don't want to see him loose his foot or even worse his life.
