As many of you know already, the last couple weeks have been rough, and this is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. In an 8-day stretch, I was laid off from my job and I then severely broke BOTH of my ankles in an accident while traveling in Europe. I had emergency surgery the day of the accident Friday, February 16th to install those Forrest Gump-type contraptions you see in my legs and I'm now currently stuck in a German hospital by myself for two weeks longer. I need a second surgery to remove the fixtures and further repair both ankles before it's safe to fly home to America, where I'll seek further treatment and care over the next several months. The doctors say I will be wheelchair bound for 8-12 weeks.
Medical bills are quickly piling up, and with no source of income and others in my family relying on me financially, put frankly, I am terrified. I have also been trying to help my mom out with medical bills she is still facing from battling (and beating) cancer, but this situation no longer makes that possible.
I hope that if I could trouble you incredible people for a donation of any amount (no donation is too small) and together we spread the word near and far, I may be able to offset these outrageous bills so that I can get through this awful situation I've found myself in. If you would be so kind as to contribute whatever you have the means to, I would be forever grateful and will find a way to repay each and every one of you for your help. I think it goes without saying, but even asking for this favor is extremely hard for me to do and I promise I wouldn't unless I truly needed it. Truth be told, I am very scared this situation may negate a lot of hard work to get where I was and I am at a loss for what else to do.
